Any body given up coffee
Discussion
Pretty much as per the title.
I found myself drinking more and more coffee of late and have decided to stop for a while but have read some horror stories...
My last cup was on sunday lunchtime but feel fine at the moment, does this mean its ok or does this mean all hell is about to let loose?

On weekends I dont touch the stuff but during the day I may have between 2 and 5 depending on how tired I am...
used to be hooked on the stuff, but again its just at work and rarely outside, maybe once in a blue moon I will have a sunday morning coffee with the paper but that is about it.

if you don't touch it you will be less tired. it picks you up for a bit and then throws you down below where you were in the first place. im never tired nowused to be hooked on the stuff, but again its just at work and rarely outside, maybe once in a blue moon I will have a sunday morning coffee with the paper but that is about it.
I gave up coffee and tea when I went on a fitness jag about ten years ago. I got sharp headaches for a few days at the start, but that soon faded.
Then one day, after about a year 'dry', I was walking through a shopping mall and I smelt this tantalising smell from a fresh coffee shop. I decided to have a cup of their freshest brewed beverage. Then I had another.
Suddenly my heart started hammering away in my chest and I felt this enormous buzz, like speed. I thought I was about to have a heart attack!
But after that I was 'back on' coffee. Been drinking it ever since, though I don't really know why. I don't drink 'brewed' coffee now though, as it makes me really wired and irritable.

yup, that's an anxiety or panic attack which caffeine can bring on quite easily. Caffeine is a funny drug.
Even just a couple of cups of regular Nescafe instant gets me a bit wired, so I dread to think what the people who drink loads of brewed coffee feel like. maybe it simply doesn't affect some people.King Herald said:

It's also pretty good for weight loss!
Had to give up for health reasons 1.5 years ago. Took about 3 weeks to get over it, but still find myself yearning over a lovely freshly ground cup...
Have to stick to the decaf, but if I have a couple of cups over a few days it starts to set off the old caffeine triggers. Worse than crack I'm I'm telling you!
