Been recently getting pain below/side of my neck when i look over my right shoulder. I also cant turn my chin all the way over to the shoulder so makes cycling and looking behind for traffic a problem. Similar for looking over left but no pain.

Any ideas/thoughts for diy exercises? Or do i need a physio or osteopath?

Physio would be my recommendation. Had similar issue myself recently which my osteopath spent many months 'working' on but was resolved by a PHer physio at first visit.
Clearly not all osteopaths are the same so I can't say they're all crap, just mine.

Sounds like a joint's seized up. Plenty of movement (particularly turning and tilting left away from the pain), heat and painkillers should sort it.

It really does depend on the quality of the person you're seeing....they vary so much. If you could find someone that could do really good sports massage they may even be useful to you. Physio's quite often work in tandem with a good sports massage practioner when appropriate. If you are in London I can recommend a fantastic Osteopath....he's an ex athlete that works at all the major athletics chamionships...if he's good enough for Usain Bolt (literally) he's good enough for most people. Some Osteo's use fairly violent movement, this guy uses very gentle mainupulation...you almsot don't know he's doing it.
