Hi,

girlfriends up the duff but funds are low are these classes actually worth it? We already have a million magazines on the subject - we will gain anymore or are they worth it more to meet other people in the same boat?

Thanks

Hi
We went to NCT classes in December of last year, our son was born in January of this year. The classes are 5 percent learning stuff useful at the birth (mainly rubbing her back!), and 95 percent meeting other couples who are about to have a baby. My wife now sees the other girls in the group a couple of times a week and I can't think what we would have done without them.
Cheers
James

We went to the NCT classes too and would echo what was said here, some of the stuff you learn helps, most is common sense though.
My wife has a get together with the other girls and babies once a week and the lads have a get together now and again too, we were very lucky with our group in that we are all around the same age and seem to all get on.

bunch of weirdos in our group, glad not to see any of them again!

Most useful thing was a trip to see where to go when we needed to go in

if you can't rub a back it may be useful to you....

Dont bother - the 'lessons' are there to educate the stupid IMO.

Much more can be gained by talking with a mate you trust who's been through it all.

Yes IMO, not for the info really but for the friendships that may come out of it. My OH has kept in contact with 3 of the other 7 couples in our NCT class.

I'd agree. I kept in touch with 3 of the 4 mums in my class for over 3 years, and it was nice to have people to talk to who where going through exactly the same thing at the same time.
