I got the crap beaten out of me the other night by 4 spanish muggers.
Injuries include a punch to the neck and cheek, and both knees fked.
It happened 4 days ago and now I have all the symptoms of a broken rib.
Thing is, it's only just started hurting today. Is it possible that you can
have delayed symptoms like this?

sympathies, I was mugged in madrid in march and have just this week settled the insurance claim.
it maybe just be bruising, a cracked or broken rib will (from experience) make its presence felt in short order.
go to a&e, should be fairly quiet this time of night and it'll only take the triage nurse a few seconds to tell you either way.

If it "clicks" when you press it, it would indicate it's broken, I took a kicking a couple of months ago in a fairly enthusiastic sparring session, and my ribs hurt (pain breathing, coughing, sneezing especially) for about 2 weeks, went for an xray but nothing, not a lot a hospital can do with ribs though ultimately fella
