Can someone recommend a suitable workout plan for the 3 week run up to my holiday? I'm quite fit, and normally do a fair bit of excercise, but I'm with a new Girlfriend and still in the honeymoon period so we're having too much to drink and too many nice meals!! Lol.

I'm 5' 8", normally a 31/32" waist and quite muscular, but I've noticed over the past couple of months I'm looking a little "rounded" as opposed to the chiseled look I normally have. And my denims are starting to get a bit on the tight side!! Oops!!

Tonight I cycled a fairly difficult 20 miles, and swam a couple of dozen lengths of my local pool (25m). I was planning on keeping this up every second day, with some weight training on the alternate days, high reps, lower than usual weight. I was thinking about sticking to cereal for breakfast and lunch, with a Chicken/Prawn/Salmon Salad for my evening meal. Oh, and obviously stay away from the bevvy for the duration!!

Any thoughts on this? Will I shed a few pounds and tone up on 3 weeks?? I hope so!

If you are already in reasonably good shape then there is no reason why you can't shed a few pounds before holiday. You won't have time to tone up but you can lose some fat. Everything you have said is spot on. Lots of CV work, but go for length of time of doing the activity rather than pace. weights should be high reps lower weight. Obviously diet is key. Use 1% fat milk rather than normal and cut out every snacky item. Lots of lean meat for protein and oats/grain for some clean carbs.

Drink lots of water as your body likes to store it. By drinking lots your body will get rid of the water it is storing as it learns that it will be getting plenty everyday.

That is about the best you can do!
