I have been getting headaches all my life, usually down to stress and eye tiredness. I have seen doctors but they don't seem to find it warrants their intervention. I also get migraines. Last night I woke at 3 because a house alarm was going off and I got up, went to the loo and felt a vague headache. I took paracetamol plus ( Same as Headex ) which usually finally gets rid, but it seems now, when I take this, for up to 2 hours after taking, I get a really bad almost migraine ache which finally clears, but by then I am shattered. I don't want to keep taking Migralieve as I don't want to limit its effectiveness for when I know I am having a bad attack. Aspirins have never worked, the same with ibuprofen.
I knew last night would be the same, but I also know if I had left it, I would have been worrying about it and it would still be there in the morning.
Does anyone else have this side effect or should I get it checked out again?

Just a thought, but as Paracetamol plus contains caffeine, it could be this causing the migraines. Think of your other caffeine intake prior to taking these and see if there is any increase (tea, coffee). The extra caffeine may just be tipping you over the edge.

There is also a condition called rebound headache, most common though is codeine products, where taking a painkiller actually gives you a headache.

Thanks
I have been out today and had a chat to the pharmacist.
I have some tablets without caffeine to see how that helps.

Why not visit the City of London Migraine Clinic (http://www.migraineclinic.org.uk). It is the only clinic of it's kind in the UK. It trains medical professionals and does research into migraine and headache. The doctors who you will see all have a specialist interest in migraine and headache.

You can refer yourself on the website or give them a ring 0207 251 3322.

If you want more information you can PM me. It really is an excellent (rated by over 80% of patients and rest rated it good) and under used resource.

I get quite bad headaches, which have the symptoms of migraine which I have found are down to dehydration (especially in this weather) originally used dyhralite (the mrs was so worried about me she called NHS direct who suggested this, but I have now founds lucozade sport (other similar products are available) works as well if not better..
