Was watching some class today. The music was pumping at around 150bpm for the entire hour. How the hell do people keep going? I think I'd collapse after 15 minutes max and I'm no couch potato.

Admittedly, after about 10 minutes I buggered off, so maybe they all sat down and took a breather once I'd gone.

Don't worry, the PH self-contradiction police will be along soon to flag up your inability to tell what the bpm was for the whole hour if you were only there for 10 minutes! wink

Oh, wait a minute... hehe

I wandered past the open door to the car park (no aircon) and the music was still pounding like a happy hardcore event.

Generally the music keeps playing even when you're having a breather - and the class probably won't match pace to it the whole session either. Certainly in the classes of this kind I've been dragged along to it's been pretty laid back in terms of actual exercise, though some (spin classes in particular) can be very challenging.

They seemed to be keeping pace to the music while I was watching. They were playing what I can only describe as happy hardcore. The class was "BodyCombat". There was a lot more totty than the martial arts classes I'm used to, I must say.

They have those classes at my gym, 60 odd females squashed into a studio ranging from yikes to cloud9
It's a tough class.

Yeah, you see... do I do Muay Thai with sweaty, muscular 20 something males or... I am 100% certain I prefer women to men. Sadly, I don't think my fitness levels are good enough. I'd be a whimpering wreck after 10 minutes.

Thats because it's not a martial arts class, they might break a nail or possibly even have to punch something / someone if they went to one of those!

Obvious cat is obvious?

I'm 5 minutes' drive from a top BJJer's class. 10 minutes' drive from a good CQC teacher. The world of TKD is on my doorstep. Yet... biggrin
