Due to work now taking the spare time that was spent in the gym, im looking at just doing it from home.
Im already at a size i would like to stay at,not really after gettin much bigger,so....
Would you suggest just getting some more free weights and bench-press etc,or just going for a multigym?

I think the general consensus is free weights are better because you train supporting muscles.

Get a barbell, some plate weights and something to make sure you don't damage your floor.

Try an equestrian supply shop for good quality thick rubber mats. Perfect for a gym or a sex dungeon.

I have these as I had to get rid of my dumbell rack and weights. Very convenient, though TBH I don't like the grip and prefer using them by turning the 'bell 90 degrees after taking them out of the holder, before the exercise,

Not sure about this (will check) but when I got them (90lb per hand max) I looked at these and another type and one (can't recall if it was these) had an add on set that went up to about 140lbs. I've got some (3 sets) of larger Hex type dumbells as an extra so still don't have too much space taken up but they were very pricey.

Theyre worth it though arent they mate, had a look at a dumbell rack, but for that price, the middle weights dont get used,so paying alot of money for what effectively become an ornament.

Yes, I agree. I was so proud of mine - 3 tiers full of weights but many never touched! So, I sold it and recovered tons of space to actually be able to train in!

The thing about the Bowflex that is good is that it's so quick to change weights for drop sets etc.

Cheers! As I said the only thing I could say against them is the grip is a bit thick, but turning it is more comfortable + maybe a need to add a couple of heavier ones as well or use a bar instead.

55kg DBs are pretty heavy. I don't see many people using them for bench press. Well done if you do!

Can relate to the noises hehe. Just before i quit the gym my personal best was 8 unassisted reps with a pair of 50's. Could only manage about 4 on my next set though frown. Can't think of anything better to aggravate that fcensoreding 'stabbing' pain in the front of my right shoulder weeping

Tbh, bench pressing used to be the worst for upsetting my shoulder, physio told me not to bring the bar down to touch the chest - leave a 5-6cm gap between bar and chest - this helped a little. Even had an MRI scan on my shoulder, but this revealed nothing, so next option was key-hole surgery - i declined this as physio said i would just potentially be opening up a can of worms. So i took a month off when our daughter was born (nearly 2 years ago) - never been back since weeping

Just made an enquiry to David Lloyd health club - getting the itch again thumbup
