Ok, on friday me and my boss had a bet, whoever can lose the most weight by the 9th of August wins £100. After taking the bet i thought to myself i have zero idea how to lose weight, my boss has a fair beer belly, im more stocky (think rugby player) and dont have even a quarter the gut he does! So this makes me think, where am i going to lose the weight from?

I need advise on what to do, should i just go jogging every other night? maybe sit ups to?

What about food? my diet is not great, i cannot cook full stop?

Drink? i dont drink beer or much alcohole at all, i also dont drink alot of anything, whats the best drink to drink to aid weight lose?

Any help would be great....

Thanks

Nick

Works but can really mess with your head to say nothing of what it can do to your teeth.

Anything you like really. Though they say limit it to 600 calories. But if you're not really aiming to lose weight like most of the fat heffers out there, I wouldn't really worry about that too much.

You should eat breakfast, by not eating breakfast and starving yourself between dinner the previous night and lunch the following day your body will retain any fat it gets during the day.

As for not cooking, what bunk smile It's easy, just find some good healthy recipes and get cooking!

go sit in the sauna for 2 or 3 hours before the weigh in, you'll lose about a stone if you can hack it.

you should be aiming for way more than that, thats barely half a stone. I ditched 7kg in 2 weeks for a judo comp, 80kg down to 73kg. Just remember to keep hydrated, you wont burn much fat of youre dehydrated.

A 10k run will burn off about 700 calories which is about a mars bar.

To properly lose weight you need to watch what you eat properly and stick to a diet whilst exercising. Starving yourself wont work as your body then just stores what food it does get as fat straight away as it thinks you might be without food for a while.

Before the weigh in definitely do some saunaing, just remember to get some electrolyte replacement juice for after.

How did you ditch the weight so quickly?

I walk 15k a day at work and then ran 6 miles every night after work and basically cut out a lot of crap and excess carbs from my diet. Losing weight is a piece of piss as long as youre not lazy.

I had a judo competition once that I wasnt expecting to be able to go to so I hadnt trained, I cut 4kgs in the sauna before the weigh in and made weight, not advisable! I still got bronze mind you.

7kg in 2 weeks is unhealthy loss - there's no way you did that without major negative effects, and I imagine you will have regained the lost weight within a couple of days of it. I appreciate that you probably carry 10kg~ of excess weight over your 'normal' Judo weight, but losing that much weight that quickly is only going to lead to issues with health.

@OP, if you're wanting to lose this weight as a long-term thing, and not just for the £100, then your 3kg goal sounds reasonable for a healthy active person. If you're carrying a lot of excess fat then you might be able to drop more, but it really will come down to a lifestyle change rather than a 'diet' - don't do something you're not willing to keep up for the rest of your life - eat less, move more.

Not to worry though, a mars bar is nowhere near 700 calories, so it's obviously just that your figures are massively exaggerated.

Maybe it was a home-made, stick 3 together effort?
