Good noon PH.
Bit of background on the situation, 4 weeks ago i found out my sister's bf had been knocking her about, obviously not being happy i gave him a few 'gentle' taps, one such 'tap' was a bit exciteable and resulted in me breaking my 3rd,4th and 5th metacarpal,i had a cast on which was moulded (hand squoze whilst it set, excrutiating!) been back today, and they say the breaks have gone worse, shoddy workmanship imho but hey-hum.
So,i have to go back on Monday for an operation to have it sorted, does anyone know what this will involve?or what theyre actually doing to it,as i didn't really understand the posh words they were throwing at me....
Thanks people of PH-land.

It sounds like they are going to knock you out, re break the bones, re a line them properly maybe with a few pins and a bit of scaffolding and put you back in plaster for another 6 weeks.

In the good old days of PH, you'd have been accused of wking too furiously...

But things are more genteel these days...

A similar thing happened to me after I once declined a chap's offer to relieve me of my wallet.
They put something called k-wires into my hand, with the ends sticking out a few centimetres.
Having them taken out smarted a bit.

What, they just leave bits of scaffolding hanging out?

There's a reason why the Great Master himself said, "and if you've got a set of keys, make them count".
