Morning Gents,

I am looking for some advice and/or experiences please.

I started having pain in one of my testicle around a week ago. I have an appointment with the docs tomorrow morning to have a proper examination but I spoke with him over the telephone this morning and when I described my symptoms he said he didn't think it was anything too serious.

It's more of a constant dull ache than a pain. I must confess that I don't check that area as often as I perhaps should so it is difficult to tell if anything is different down there.

There does seem to be a small area that is slightly uncomfortable to the touch - it almost feels like a thick vein at one end.

So - perhaps a little embarrasing to discuss, and I am seeking proper medical assistance, but I would appreciate any advice on possible diagnoses and/or your experiences with similar symptoms.

Please TRY to keep the nonsense to a minimum! biggrin

Had something similar.

After having bollix fondled by my GP and them some geezer at hospital turns out I had a slightly enlarged epididimus. Didn't even know I had one and it sounds like a prop from the Goon Show. Nothing was done and it seems fine. I think the shock of a couple of blokes playing with them made them self healing!

Currently undergoing Chemo for testicular cancer so would advise you to get to the Doc's asap...

May be nothing, but it will not get better for being left if there is something wrong

How old are you?

I had the same symptoms a few years ago in my early 40's that went on for months and made the mistake of mentioning it to wifey one day. So next day I'm at the quack's and he dismissed testicular cancer out of hand at that age. He still sent for me for scan but it was clear. Just went away on its own after a while

He told me it was under 30's thing although I just looked up some stats and they have the peak rates at 30-40. Anyway, it usually occurs a lump which is painless, so the fact that your's hurts is probably a good thing!

Epidydimal (sp?) cyst from the sound of things. Can be removed under a general anaesthetic but no guarantee it won't return.

They thought it was unlikely for me also (47), but that did not stop it being the cause of the lump

Did you have any pain associated with your lump?

It could be a varicosity. Hot weather wont have helped if it is.

Yep, sounds like varicose vein around testicle. Usually the left one because of pressure from the heart... and sports can bring problem on. And they say sports is good for you.

Not sure about the age thing. A relative of mine had testicular cancer in his early 30's. He wrote a very good book about the experience of the operation and chemo etc. Recommended reading if you have TC and want to know what to expect and how to get through it mentally.

Some odd "aches" etc nothing specific - for the OP it might be nothing -vein etc but definitely worth getting checked out
