even if the room temperature is reasonable for everyone else in the room im close to breaking a sweat and getting a headache.(and it makes me grouchy).

do some people just "run hot" or do i have a problem?

i drink plenty, exercise plenty and eat healthily but i've always seemed to be a little hotter than everyone else. recently gone back to college so sitting in small classrooms again has made me notice and am never really "comfortable" in a classroom inless it is cool.

is there any cause for concern? and also (maybe more importantly) is there anything i can do about it?

Hormones? I had terrible hot flushes when my testosterone level dropped. Maybe thyroid not functioning quite right? Couple of easy blood tests your GP can do.

Well i suppose it depends on your body. Im really tall and rather thin, can eat as much as i want and not put weight on, which i put down to have a ridiculously high metabolism. This also has the side effect off constantly being too hot, and hotter then everyone else.

Feeling constantly hot was what led me to have a test and find out I have type 2 diabetes.

Not really much else by way of symptoms that I recognised at the time. Might be worth getting a test done. Most chemists will do a quick blood test, either that or find a diabetic with a blood test meter. At least you'll be able to check your blood sugar level.

Do you have any other symptoms e.g. dry skin, weight gain, trouble sleeping etc?
Could be a number of issues but I suggest that if it is causing you any discomfort/embarrassment, a 5 minute chat with your Doctor is probably advisable. With health, it's always better checking with a professional.

I am very quick to sweat, walked for 15 mins yesterday in the sun, got back to the office and I was an absolute mess. It's strange because stick me in an air conditioned room and i dry/cool down pretty quick.

My internal thermostat is definitely goosed.

Ever had a big bang on the head? I did and that goosed my thermostat good and proper, I'm always way too hot these days.

I used to always get really hot for no apparent reason as well, internal thermostat just seemed off and I never got cold; happy to go out in a T shirt in any weather. Doctors never seemed to take it seriously but it would cause me issues at times.

However it's all fixed now and I've even been known to put on a jumper and moan about being cold!

Last October I started doing a lot of exercise and changed my diet. I found that after cutting out refined carbohydrates (white bread and white rice basically) for about 2 - 3 weeks it stopped. I only made the link because I had a meal out and ate rice and started heating up exactly as I always used to. I tested it out a couple of weeks later and again it happened.

I don't by anymeans cut out all carbs but for healthy eating reasons I am choosy about which I go for and only eat high GI carbs with no 'heating effect'. No white rice or white bread and I'm fixed! Wish I'd known years ago.

This thread is great timing.

I occasionally suffer from 'hot face syndrome' today being such a day.

Honestly, it feels like you could fry an egg on my cheeks. Rest of me is fine.

what is that all about?

I haven't been cold since 22.10.2004. I've been slightly chilly, but not cold. That was the day I lost my lower left leg. It was like flicking a switch - one day normal, next day roasting hot. Any form of physical excercise has sweat pouring out of me, I hardly ever wear more than a T shirt and light jumper in winter. If my hands get a little cold in the winter, they're warm in a minute once I come inside.

It's a curse really...

I am exactly the same, I eat like a horse yet people say I'm skinny, and I'm constantly hot. My GF says it's like sleeping next to a heater sometimes, she can feel the heat radiating off me.

Guessing thats down to your same organs have to cover less muscle, blood etc, resulting in excess calories etc, and heat.

Nope, the hypothalamus does. Take a look, at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypothalamus

My temp is up the creek because I have MS - I never get cold but can become uncomfortably hot all too easily. And Uthoff's syndrome happens when I get hot...it makes the MS symptoms worse.
