Dental Implants
Discussion
When I was a lad I bashed both of my top two front teeth. In my teens these were crowned but are now both working loose.
I have spoken to my dentist who says the option is either a denture or implants.
A plate really does not appeal so I need to think about implants.
What are the likely costs for this either in the UK or abroad?

I would have thought its not the crowns that are loose if you need an implant, its the tooth underneath. I too smashed half of both my top front ones off when I was a kid and now have crowns on both. They tend to last 8/10 years before they fall off or I break them chomping on something a little over exuberantly. Had one re done recently and its just a grind it off/clean and replace jobby. Cant help with implants but would have thought this would be the preferable option on front teeth.

I had mine done by Dr. Ucer in Cheshire. He charges £1800 per tooth.A plate really does not appeal so I need to think about implants.

fk me, really?!I knocked my fronts in half but luckily they glued them back on and they rehydrated. Look a bit messy up close though so was always considering caps or something.
I was quoted about 1600 quid a tooth for titanium posts with 'the best' false tooth stuck on, by supposedly one of the best cosmetic dentists in the north (speaks volumes I guess). I needed 3 doing, along with 2 RCTs, replace a couple of fillings that were badly done by someone else, and the usual normal check up type stuff. I had one tooth done as it was an emergency, but held off on the rest.
Mentioned it while I was out in Dubai visiting my folks and they nearly fell off their chair laughing. Got pointed towards their dentist out there who is utterly superb. He wasn't impressed by the UK fitted tooth at all. I say not impressed, you'd think he'd just licked a wrestlers taint by the look on his face. Anyway he did the job lot for 1200 quid and did a perfect job of it. Way better than any treatment I've had in the UK for a fraction of the price. The studio doesn't look like a stylish bar, nor is there alessi coffee makers or a bentley outside. The service is spot on though and I make a point of getting out there for any work I need now. It still works out cheaper once you factor in the cost of the flight for big work. I'm happy paying a bit more to get over there just for the usual stuff, means I get a weekend on the beach and cheap but awesome dentistry
Happy to pass on the details, he does a lot of work for folks from overseas quickly. My old man's sent a few of his company to him when they've paid off a ship there and they're whining about toothache or similar.

Thanks. I have had a lot of dental stuff lately but so far the NHS have been really good to me.
The finishing off though could get expensive if this Thread is anything to go by!

www.modernpolyclinic.com < doesn't seem to be working, guess they changed it.
That's in Bur Dubai, opposite the Astoria hotel. If you want the exact address I'll have to dig around a bit more as it's not on the business card
