My baby is on Montelukast granules as a maintenance for his breathing - given to us by hospital. I wondered if anyone has any experience of them. I didn't think they were helping.
Then we tried to get a repeat which the GP issued. The GP dispenses for us - BUt they couldn't get hold of any - not discontined just not avliable. We have run out and two weeks on they still can't get any.
My son is now ending sounding like a donkey rather a lot. He has some chest recssion too. So I have been having to give his notrmal inhaler a lot more. It gets worse during rhe day - nighttime he is coughing and wheexzing.
I have tried calling round various large pharmacies to see if they have any left - none locally do.
So I left a message for our consultant at the hospital who started us on them - that was a couple of days ago. I knoe she is very busy so it could be a week before she gets back to us.
The GP said there are no alternatives. ( I think he is too young at 8 months for the brown inhaler)

I am a bit at a loss as to what to do next.

Try the head pharmacist at your local big hospital. Should help with advice. They order millions of pounds of medicines yearly...

Tell your GP to phone MSD (the manufacturers) on 0199 245 2094 and they will courier him a supply
