Throat Infection?

I've got a pain in the back of my throat that feels a bit like an ulcer, which makes it feel like I'm swallowing broken glass every time I eat/drink!

I've been to the Docs and got antibiotics, is there anything I can do to relieve the pain at all?

Try Dequacaine lozenges. Check whether they will affect the type of antibiotics you are on though.

Im in the same boat, been really struggling last few days with throat infection.
Doc gave me phonoxymethlpenicillin ( penicillin to you an I ) and it has been working wonders!
Best to try and keep the fluids up, I also used the ultra chloraseptic throat spray which brought small but welcome relief!

Its worse because you can't actually see it looking through the mouth, it's further down so you can't reach it with the lidocaine spray! Gah!

Have you given a man oral sex?

When you went to the doctors did he merely have a look and prescribe the antibiotics?

Certain it's not your tonsils and you're certain it's not pharyngitis ?

No I haven't!

I had UPPP surgery 3 years ago with a Tonsillectomy. Dr just gave me antibiotics, no real inspection!

Well what you are describing is a side effect to UPPP.

Well it's mostly cleared up now after a week of Antibiotics, and now I fell like I'm going to be sick on and off, and I have a headache and generally just feel 'ill'... Can't see doc til Weds, is this likely to be a side effect of the Antibiotic? :/
