Howdy folks, i'm after some info and advice here if you please.

I have 2 teeth, on the upper side, same one each side, 2nd from the back, not including wisdom teeth, which are a bit of a family mare.

My mother has the same problems, basically each tooth grows inwards at a funny angle and then due to constant wear and tear starts to disintegrate. I'm left with 2 dead and somewhat sharp teeth. They impede my speech slightly, and i'm constantly cutting my tongue on them.

I'm not interested in a crown as they would still interfere, essentially i'd like them removed.

Any ideas on what this will cost roughly? Can i simply go and ask for it to be done? Worth trying the dental hospital and getting a student to do it for free?

The way i see it, and from having kids tooths removed, it will be 4 injections around the tooth and then a yank with the pliers. No need for any drilling or root canal nonsense am i right?

My one worry is that if i have the teeth removed, will it then allow the rest of my upper set to do whatever the hell they like? Should i be getting false teeth inserted to keep things in order?

I've been suffering with this for years and think it's high time i did something about it. I have a singing career to consider laugh I have thought about the bottle of whisky and a good friend with a pair of pliers but he'd only end up drinking half the whisky and then pull out the wrong tooth.

Your advice on what to do or where to find out more is appreciated.

Don't have a dentist at the minute and as ignorant as it sounds i'm not keen on having someone i go to every 6 months for a check up.

Is it worth trying the dental colleges?

Thank you for your 8 words of advice MacGee.

I'm assuming from your profile you are in the business. Just the one question, and i'm expecting a one word reply, will the dental college charge me for the tooth removal?

nope....

only joking..bit busy but gist is best to get yourself up to dental hospital and tell them of your woes...bad toothache, no dentist, tried to register but none available, been hurting for ages, tried painkillers but too much pain. If they have a heart you'll get seen. Be nice to the receptionist...always helps.
