Have been cycling to work since Jan, have managed to loose a decent bit of fat of my face/neck/waist etc and feel much better for it. Now I've lost enough to see what's underneath the flab I thought I'd get back down the gym to build up some muscle/strengh.

After signing up to the local gym for a month, 3 days after my first weights session, right arm is pretty much locked and outer elbow very swollen/ sore.

Been 2.5 weeks now and pain gone but I can't even attempt any weight on the bench press or French curls etc as any pushing outward movement and I can feel my elbow threatening to throw a wobbler again.

Will a months rest and a careful reintroduction do it, or will the elbow always be a weak point and I'm destined never to be big like arnie?

Rest it. Ice on it everyday for thirty mins. Should be back on light weights within 2-3 weeks I would say (from personal experience).

Will give it a couple of weeks, then take it easy.
