You need to speak to Peterpeter on here. Bleaching will give you mixed results. In a presentation like that above they obviously choose a perfect case.

bleaching has moved on since this old presentation. BTW..tet staining almost imposs to diguise with bleaching....so dont be conned into expecting great results. Veneers may be the best for you..Must see a specialist who has done many of these.

so what are your thoughts on the fact that video was ages old and made her teeth look so much better, surely now you would expect it to be better?

I cant afford vaneers so what is my option? frown

Go see a dentist?!?

I have terrible teeth - both in terms of colour and the way they sit. My teeth are badly discoloured because of tetracycline. I had always been told by a myriad of dentists that veneers were my only option, an option which I didn't want to take.

I'm currently having Invisalign braces to straighten my teeth out and my current dentist has thrown in a tooth whitening kit as she wanted to see what results tooth whitening would have. She warned me that it would take about a year (the same length of time as my braces) before I would see a difference and that the bleach might not make much difference - and it was highly unlikely it would get rid of all the staining. I've used the kit for one week and the difference is absolutely astounding. I had my teeth polished about a month ago so it's not just tea staining etc that's coming off. My teeth are almost pearly white and about a third of the staining has disappeared already.

So really....go see a cosmetic dentist and see what they have to say. My first appointment was free anyway. If you're anywhere near me, I'd be happy to recommend my dentist as she's brilliant (and who I found vaguely via peterpeter).

I'm using Ultradent 15% PF Carbamide Peroxide Gel. Would recommend getting it from a dentist as they make trays up for you for use with the gel. I believe you can use the kit with generic trays however the results won't be as effective.

Why do so many people say bleeching does not work for tetracycline? is DXB's a lucky case or is that the normal with that type of bleech even for tetracyclined stained teeth?

I should probably ask my dentist, in fact he owes me for some IT work, but although it's been said veneers are to costly, what kind of cost bracket are we talking about? £100/£1,000/£10,000?

Is it a particularly invasive or traumatic procedure? *goes to google*.
