I don't know slim vegetarians, tbh.

You will lose weight pretty rapidly because it's essentially a low carb diet. I would do some research into the pros and cons of pretty much avoiding carbs.

I'm still hoping someone will sign up to be a guinea pig for my Doner Kebab Diet.

you've not mentioned breakfast.

but, as the diet you have said you will be greatly lacking in carbs...will lead to fatigue (both mental as well as physical), it's greatly lacking in calcium and greatly lacking it fat.

fat is a very important part of the diet.

i wouldn't say it's a very good diet IMO.

why do you want to go on a simple diet like that. a well balanced, varied one, is the way forward.

You will need a variety of sauces for the chicken because plain chicken breast is pretty tasteless.

I was thinking of a easy diet that didnt need much planning etc

its easy enough to pick up some fruit each day and a evening meal of chicken and veg etc easy too

would some multi vitamin tablets help for the missing bits ?

if anyone else has any ideas that would help

there is not enough fat in that diet, you will not be getting your essential fatty acids for starters so you would need to get omega-3 and omega-6 capsules (though certain vegetable oils contain these if you were to fry the chicken in to cook it).

that's not a very good diet and it wouldn't be too long until you started feeling sluggish.

sluggish not just physically but mentally too. the reason people often gain weight after going on a diet, is because they then change their diet back. the best way to lose weight, is usually slower, but better in the long run. that is to gradually cut down on caloric intake and eventually eat a diet which is enough to sustain the weight you would like to be. your diet changes should not be drastic, because once you've reached your weight, you will no longer eat such a radical diet and thus the weight comes straight back on.

you should aim, roughly, to get 55% of your energy from carbohydrates (try cutting on the sugary stuff), 15% from protein, and about 30% from fat, with no more than 10% coming from saturated fats.

eat a decent well balanced diet and just cut the calories down each week until you meet a level which will sustain the weight you wish to be (so that's less than now....) and the weight will gradually come off. this, coupled with some exercise. i don't know how overweight you are but just start walking or something easy, or cycling.

yes

Diets don't work. "I've lost the weight; now I can eat whatever I want again"... And then people are surprised when the diet that made them fat in the first place has made them fat again!

Try cutting down. Personally I'd say a high-protein, low carb diet (but I go to the gym a lot so maybe just try balancing everything for you) - and one day a week have a "blowout" where you eat whatever you want, or else you'll just end up craving those bad foods even more.

diets don't require immediate drastic change (unless you're properly morbidly obese) it's just gradually cutting stuff out. if you eat 10 chocolate bars a week, then if you just say no to any, you're really gonna crave it. just cut down to 6-7 to start with for instance.

it's your body though, do as you please. if you're really unsure, contact a dietitian.

Hmm.

1. Don't snack on anything, there's just no need. If you really want to snack, have some water !
2. Have you considered fresh fish? Or something a little better than fish eyes, I mean fingers.
3. You really need to have something for lunch, how about a salad?

Yes several.

Mainly due to alcohol consumption though
i think that the reason that the percentage of overweight vegetarians is lower than it is for omnivores (i daren't say "normal" people hehe ) is also likely due to the fact vegetarians are generally more health conscious and pay more attention to what they eat. not just that a vegetarian diet is a healthy one, because you could eat loads of chocolate, become a fatty, but still be a vegetarian.

I know quite a few fat veggies since the temptation (for the lazy) is to eat lots of cheese and pasta.

Just be aware that there can be alot of sugars in fruit so eating enough to fill you up might not be the way forward. Also, Specially-Expensive-K.. weigh out a (recommened?) 35g portion and try to go the morning on just that.. good luck!! You'd be better off with Oats of some kind (avoid shop bought Museli) mixed with a little honey and some currants perhaps?

If you have the facilities at work, I'd try and have a larger meal(cooked, your evening menu perhaps?) at lunch, then fewer calories fairly early in the evening (18:00 - 19:00) with a small snack before bed.
Think along the lines of "Eat breakfast like a King, lunch like a Prince and dinner like a pauper."

The way I lost weight last year was eating normally, trying to keep to the 5 a day, a bit of oily fish, NO SNACKING and one bottle of beer or glass of wine a day.

That coupled with a lot of walking did more than starvation diets and gym membership ever did.

Problem is it looks easy but after the cold winter and still cold now I have gone back to snacking big time and boozin' and the weight has come back.

If you want to lose weight, then read up on the GI Diet. It's not a diet in the commonly accepted sense of the word. It's a diet in the sense of a change in what you eat from a lifestyle perspective.
