I am walking around naked, going to work, shopping, to the Gym . . . I realise I'm naked and it's a bit odd and I feel embarrassed but I carry on doing it. Sometime I have a jumper on but still naked from the waist down.

Not a pleasant nightmare but I've no idea what it means or why I dream it. I do fancy trying a nudist beach but it's not a strong urge, not strong enough to have bothered doing it in 20 odd years and certainly at work, shopping etc, I have no desire to be naked, very happy wearing clothes. (I think my colleagues are equally pleased I wear clothes !)

What's going on ?

I quite frequently (maybe once or twice a month) have dreams where I suddenly realise I'm wearing nothing on my bottom half - nobody else notices or cares during the dream, but I do feel uncomfortable about it, and the dream invariably changes to me trying to find something to cover myself with. It's really annoying when the setting was otherwise rather entertaining eg. zombie apocalypse.

No, the nightmares only the last year, the idea of trying a nudist beach for 20 years.

That is it ! Same as me ! Other people don't seem too bothered but they do notice . . . I feel embarrassed and dash about trying to find something to wear.

Just a guess, but if it means anything I would guess it's just a consequence of some insecurity....people looking at you, or you having something to hide, or feeling exposed/fearful of being ridculed etc etc.

Out of your depth at work? Drive a Saxo? Something like that...

According to the wifes book on dreams:-

"Most dreams about nakedness revolve around self-image or self-expression and the need to be seen for what we are, not what is projected. Nudity is also linked with innocence and with that the desire to be open and honest. This could tie-in with the need for a new start or rebirth"

Has anyone been able to control dreams?
I sometimes get chased, usually around or through derelict buildings, but as soon as it looks like I'm going to be caught I can look in and acknowledge it's just a dream, so end it there. Used to have the falling dream too, but never let myself hit the bottom. Maybe controlling dreams is a sign of a light dreamer or a strong mind? I don't recall dreams much any more, haven't got a clue what I dreamt about last night but slept like a log.

I know someone who had a rather more disturbing recurring dream. They would be walking down a dark path in the forest etc.
Sounds like they've watched too many horror films, that sort of rubbish does stick in the mind.

I'm never aware that I'm dreaming, not very nice when someone is trying to stab you or puts a gun to the back of your head and pulls the trigger redface
