I'm looking to buy a Polar watch and wondering if anyone can give me some tips (or maybe point me to another brand??)

I'm looking for one that monitors heart rate, time and distance (calories burned?). I'm currently running about 3x7/8k per week and want to understand what my heart rate is and how much I can push etc. From what I can see the the Polar RS300x SD is the one that looks good, for budget (200 GBP max)

Advice, options and thoughts all welcome..

Polar are the market leaders but Suunto are another decent make. I use the Suunto T6 with a foot pod for distance and get good results with it.

Your other option would be a Garmin Forerunner 305, does heart rate etc and also tracks your run through GPS

I use the RS300x SD with the GPS module. It works very well indeed. I use it for biking, but for a laugh used it to show vehicle speed once.

I've got a Polar FS1, which is of absolutley no interest to you as it's really just a HR monitor.. I can say, however, that I'm very happy with it and would defo buy another Polar with more functiuons should I ever get the urge.
