Best way to loose 3 stone in 6 months?
Discussion
Three stone in six months isn't rapid weight loss, it's a sensible rate.
As it all went on last year, I'd return to your lifestyle of two years ago, do some exercise, something that you enjoy or you won't stick to it and you'll soon start to lose it.
I certainly wouldn't try and lose it with cereal twice a day, it's not a maintainable lifestyle change.

I am doing a low carb diet plus exercising for 1/2 to 1 hour 5 days a week and it is really shifting. And I am eating some nice food. Had a lovely red wine beef stew tonight (carrots, swede, onion, beef), last night had a homemade chicken curry but no rice, night before had teriyaki salmon on a bed of shredded leek and cabbage. Snacking on crabsticks, peanuts, ham.
Not everyones cup of tea but its working for me and I am enjoyng it.
ETA I am using the wii fit for exercise as its much more fun.

I did 6 stone in 6 months near enough. Eat less, but regularly and RUN - like your life depends on it.

I am 5ft 8 and 14 1/2 stone. Put most of it on over the last year. I need to loose lose weight. Want to loose lose it as quickly as possible.
Thinking about going on a diet of cereal morning and evening and chicken breast for lunch. What else would be good to eat as a main meal instead of chicken breast?
Thinking about getting myself an exercise bike or treadmill. Which would be better for burning belly fat?
Any tips for rapid weight loss?

Always eat breakfast, grapefruit, egg and small bowl of cereal.
Lunch time have a salad with chicken or tuna or prawns etc
For evening meal eat and drink whatever you like but you must eat it within an hour and finish eating by 19.00 at the latest
After that only take in liquids.
Buy a rowing machine and do 2000 metres once a day five times a week.
This worked for me.
I managed to lose 2.5 stone in a week when I had severe food poisoning It's not fun pooping pure water :'(
However I did do a proper weight loss scheme a few years back.
Food consisted of
Morning - egg white omlette with lettuce, glass of milk
breakfast snack - apple / banana / orange
Lunch - ham sandwich on brown bread with orange juice
Afternoon snack - bowl of tuna
Dinner - Chicken breast (with various spices dependant on my mood) with lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber
For fluids I stuck to just plain water
The weight dropped off quite quick as I was also doing 20km per day on the exercise bike and running 5 miles plus rugby training on a Tuesday and Thursday night :-) I managed to drop from 17 to 15 stone in a month and then maintained my weight by introducing pasta meals, jacket potatos etc

Dont buy any expensive machines . . .yet. Join a gym. Invest in one or two Personal Trainer sessions and a decent pair of running shoes and a heart-rate monitor instead. Go swimming and do some Circuit Training classes. All quite social too! Gentle running outside etc etc. If that works for you then you will know how motivated you are and then you might consider ditching the gym and investing in some expensive clothes-horses ;-)
Just my opinion and each to their own of course

It's all so much simpler than what's being suggested, all this talk of joining gyms and buying equipment just isn't needed.
I lost a similar amount in a similar time frame as you are wanting to lose, and all I did was cut some of the crap out my diet through the week. Less chocolate, crisps, fries food, pastry and bread. Less booze through the week. Still treat myself to nice food on the weekend and went out on the lash every week. Just eat the things you like, just less (you'll know just how excessively you eat certain foods).
For exercise all I did was 45 - 60 minutes of brisk walking. Enough to get the heart rate up and a bit of a sweat on. Include hills and steps if you can. Also basic changes like stop using lifts or escilators and walk instead of drive to the shop. It all adds up. Just throw in some bodyweight exercises in the house, get a simple pull up bar and you can exercise your entire body (or use your local park).
All this helped me lose almost exactly the amount you say you wanted to lose
I then joined a gym. Since then I've put it all back on as it just made me so damn hungry (and people on the net advising I have to eat enough protein to feed an elephant). I am fitter than I was but now I'm lardy again.
Last 3 weeks I've gone back to basics an already I am fitting into clothes I was struggling with once more.
KISS - keep it simple, stupid

But then how do you justify all the money you have spent on joining weight watcher type clubs, slim fast drinks, green tea, badgers toenails clippings (with a calorie controlled diet and regular exercise can help you to lose weight) fancy gym clothes and trainers, i-pod arm bands, protein shakes, fat burner tablets, meals every 17 mins throughout the day and only eating ham when a full moon is out etc etc....KISS - keep it simple, stupid

Moderate your diet to what is workable...definitely cut out booze and don't eat carbs in the evening. Try and exercise for at least an hour at a time as it is apparently more beneficial for weight loss to do say one 60 min session rather than two 30 min sessions a day.
If you can cycle, run or even walk to work in addition to working out do that....it all adds up. I would say variety is the key with exercise so join a gym and do things like spin classes as well as working out on your own...great for cardio.
I would be aiming to do five to seven hours of working out a week plus commuting if that works for you.

Having lost 4 stone in 4 months a few years ago, it is definately do-able.
It will however require a strict healthy diet, cutting out all luxuries and nice things and exercising for at least a good hour or two a day.
Hmm, I would say that depends on your aims. If you wanted to get all shredded and ripped, then fine. Most of the population aint that bothered (I am one). I'd just like to not have a pot belly and beer tits, and a little bit muscle on me. And if thats the aim, then just being good through the week, exercising lots (even just walking and a few calisthenics) and you can still treat yourself at the weekend, and you can still do it It will however require a strict healthy diet, cutting out all luxuries and nice things and exercising for at least a good hour or two a day.
