I need it and don't have a dentist.

codeine, paracetamol and ibuprofen are not touching the pain.

The pliers and a bottle of Tequila are starting to look tempting.

Did I mention it hurts.

How much is private treatment likely to be in the Reading area, £400?

Phone your local emergency dentist on the NHS.

You'll get an appointment tonight, although they'll probably whip it out instead of fixing it up.

For costing I had emergency root canal privately in Central London, cost me £280.

Worth every penny.

Catafast will get to the pain. You could fly to Malta, stay in a reasonable hotel and have the work done for about £200 all in, if you go with that slimy O'Leary's airline. PM me for the details of a really good dentist there.

Don't really want the tooth out, sounds a bit drastic and i've never needed any dental work before at all, i'm 27.

Going to try a few of the local nhs dentists first thing tomorrow morning and pray/plead.

I know they rather just take them out than do a RCT. It's a back one and I know the roots will be massive + I took fluoride supplements all through childhood, which is supposed to make them even stronger.

go to your nearest dental school. i had 2xroot canal performed, amalgam filling on one tooth and a ceramic falsie made to replace the top tooth which couldn't be saved.

total cost to me = £0.00p

Had mine done in India, was about £60 for the rct and a crown on top...had a white filling too which cost about £8...The dentist was top notch, not as swanky as the ones here but then he didnt charge me thousands of pounds like the 2 I went to in my local town quoted me...Wan***s!

The service was top notch and the facilities were clean, id recommend it to anybody but its a bit far to go for just an rct

Dentits here charge far too much...The first guy i went to wanted to take out 5 of my teeth! he then quoted me £3000 per implant. I think he just wanted to remove them so he wouldnt need to spend much time trying to sort them and be able to bill the NHS for the cost ...the second wanted to pull 3 and still reckoned i needed implants at £2.5k each, he then had the cheek to say dont get them done in India even tho he was Indian himself...Maybe if they didnt charge so much people wouldnt feel the need to go abroad. I know everybody needs to make a living but an RCT is not that complex to warrant charging so much

I hate dentits now, not for the reason most people do but cos the ones ive come across are thieving scum. Whereas they should help you all they wanna do is empty your pockets

I went to two dentists in india (theres hundreds out there) and both said my teeth were okay except the last one at the top which would need to go but there was no need for an implant as its not an important tooth if that makes sense

One day implants were available, i think theyre called Nobel or something and theyre £300 a pop so a massive saving there too

I quite agree. I went to our local Rolls Royce garage and the bds wanted to charge me full price for a new car...the cheek. These dentists can help you by extracting the offender. If you want more complex treatment then why dont you want to pay for it. Try getting complex advice from an accountant/lawyer/car mechanic for peanuts. Why should they give cheap care after all the training and investment that has gone into their businesses. Complain to your MP and get better funding for this advanced care.

Transactor-

I would invite you to come and have a look at my overheads- let me tell you that they would make your eyes water. Your Indian prices would not even cover the cost of the staff to "administrate" the paperwork your visit would create, let alone the cost of the materials used in your mouth.

I hope the surgery you used has been regularly inspected and cross infection control is approaching HTM 01/05 compliant. Did the surgery comply with disabled access regulations, and did you ask to see the waste transfer notes to make sure that the dentist was disposing of his waste in a proper manner? I hope the materials used have a proper licence and were from a traceable source. Was the dentist registered with the relevant information commission just to make sure that they handle your data properly? What about the public liability insurance, professional indemnity, Continuing Professional Development?

You see my point, and I havn't even even started on staff, premises, plant, tax, NI, business rates etc etc.

I don't get up in the morning and think about how I can rip people off, I do what I do to make a living and help a quite a few people on the way.

I would be very interested to hear what you do for a living-I'd hate to think you were a thieving b@stard employee, or worse, a greedy business owner or perhaps you are a dole scrounger.

Of one thing I am sure, and that is your post is very naive. That is putting it very politely.
