wondered if anyone on here has experienced similar? basically i had a few weeks off training and went back pretty hard last night about half an hour in i felt really light headed and disorientated. by the time i made it to the drinks machine i struggled to count the money out. it got to the point where i had to get some air and by the time i made it outside my vision had started to go white...after five mins or so of fresh air and fluid i was fine and finished my session. just a case of too hard too soon coupled with deHydration?

most likely dehydration or not warming up properly, sudden increase in body temp and so on.

just be a little more gentle into it next time and make sure you'v drunk plenty before (but not too much!)

Dehydration is the obvious one, but just to be on the safe side I'd be going to the docs and / or getting your blood pressure tested.

Possibly be low blood sugar levels? I'd go to a doctor to get checked out just to be on the safe side.

Go to docs mate had a friend taking a spinning class after he finished he fainted in front of the class and it ended up quite a nasty illness. Get it checked out.

I would have thought it was blood sugar than hydration, I have had light headed moments after a very stiff workout. I would take it easy and work yourself back up to the previous level over a few sessions making sure you fuel yourself appropriately. If nothing else going hell for leather after doing nothing for a few weeks heightens your chances of injury massively. It's up to you whether you go to the doctor at this point but I would be inclined to get back in the gym relatively quickly and do a light workout making sure you are properly hydrated and you eat plenty of fruit etc before and after exercise and keep an eye on your heart rate taking it very easy.

You dont neccesarily need to use lucozade, orange cordial with some added salt is just as good. When you exercise you need to get sugar, salt, vitamins and minerals into your system, as these are lost in your sweat.

Drinking just plain water is the wrong thing to do.

Bananas are also very very good. But dont forget to drink too.
