Soluble Co-Codamol
Discussion
I tend to use the 5/500 soluble version for Headaches as Paracetamol tends to take ages to work and Ibuprofen tends to only work on Inflammation with me. I used to get the 100 packs as my wife also uses it and it would last 6 to 12 months. Thanks to Labour's "nannying" I have had to get the 24's. Now the local pharmacist is refusung to sell it to me at all!!! Any pharmacist's on here clear this up?

THEY THINK YOUR A JUNKIE. and going to get high on them and are paranoid now.because of morons necking 50 pills a day to get high on.
i take the 30/500`s on prescription for back/spinal problems I even had one pharmacist moron accuse me of write the prescription myself.
just tell em there a tit and go to another pharmacy.
just remember this is nanny state Britain and you can be trusted to know whats go or bad for you.
I'm guessing you're referring to 8/500mg co-codamol. In all honesty, 16mg (2 x 8mg tablets) has no pain killing effect. It is no more effective than paracetamol but, despite this, can cause the side-effects associated with higher doses (constipation, addiction etc).
Another thing to bear in mind with soluble tablets is the salt content. Eight soluble co-codamol tablets daily will contain very near to your recommended 6g of salt a day. Something worth thinking about.
I'd stick with paracetamol tablets - they say they take 30mins to kick in.

I don't use eight a day. At Maximum 2 is enough to deal with with my Sinus headaches and usually I don't need to use them more than a couple of days in a row so the side effects don't bother me. As for the "Salt" argument, I take more than that in in a morning. Salt does not affect my blood pressure and never has, along with about 75% of the British population!! As for addiction normally I can go months without them. A major change in weather does however bring me a couple of days of discomfort.Another thing to bear in mind with soluble tablets is the salt content.
