Can anyone here recommend a consultant there?

Also, the website neatly avoids talking about costs.

Does anyone know the ballpark costs these days for both eyes which are just a little short sighted - no fancy problems to worry about?

Cheers. nerd

David Gartry, Julian Stevens, Bruce Allan, Alex Ionides are all great surgeons.

Costs about £2k per eye at Moorfields. Costly but good service and great experience.

Colleague opposite me had both eyes treated on Saturday by David Gartry at Moorfields. Thoroughly recommended. Cost as above with an interest free credit arrangement available.

Agree Prof Gartry is a lovely chap, and if I would have him do my eyes if I were getting it done (as an eye surgeon).

I went for a consultation last year at Moorfields with Julian Stevens.

It comes out to 3.6k (in total) and you also have to pay a consultation fee of £90. Since then I've decided to go to Accuvision for the Trans Epi treatment (as opposed to Lasik at Moorfields) for 2.4k.

Going in on Friday week.. wish me luck!

Posted this on the other thread too, but just wondered if anyone has any experience of Accuvision in West London as I'm going to arrange a consultation with them tomorrow?

Cheers.

Alex Ionides carried out lens replacement on one eye, and LASIK on the other.

Top bloke, excellent service and went above and beyond to make sure it was just right.

Insurance was paying though !

I had my eyes done (LASIK) by Julian Stevens. Couldn't recommend him more highly - the care I got was superb.

My mother has also had several operations with him - first for cataract + lens implants, and I can't remember what the second one was for.

Before surgery, my eyes were about -6.5 and -7 (so severely short sighted) with astigmatism in both. I paid about £3k in total, although this was a couple of years ago. It's the best money I've ever spent smile
