80 min documentary on a 42 year old US guy, 27% fat to a 5% body builder comp!

http://vidreel.com/human/NTk0MDU0/

Amazing to see his journey and the mental and physical sacrifces needed. Also, nothing more than diet, hard work and a plan does it

Really interesting vid, thanks for the post. It was very interesting to actually watch an example of how big a factor nutrition really is in looking ripped. It was nice to see emphasis on losing fat not weight too.

An excellent find, thanks very much for posting this up. Fascinating documentary and great to see the changes he made in a relatively short time.

I've been told by someone that used to compete that to get that much definition in their abs they inject glucogen directly into their stomach. To keep themselves alive they have to take something like 0.5mg of potassium.

Some of the things i was told by this guy were crazy.

body builders are all on the juice, they dont test out of competition. They take roids or HGH, cycle off it for competition then take ephedrine to burn bodyfat then massively dehydrate themselves for competition. I woudnt advocate anybody folows a bodybuilding programme if they want to get healthy.

I agree with the last bit about health but not that ALL bodybuilders take drugs though I reckon from my experience that more take diuretics and cutters than steroids/GH - even the 'naturals' seem to have less of a sporting/moral dilemma over these for some reason.

The reason for my believing that some don't is that I know some who I'm sure don't take drugs and see what they look like + know from my own body just what I can look like/ the size & strength I can gain with definition, drug free, if and when I've trained reliably with a consistent (= months!) good diet. My brother has been obsessive about his diet and training for 20+ years and, although only c. 11 stone is more muscular looking and looks leaner than the guy in the documentary, so it can be done.
