Just got back from the doctors. It seems I have early symptons of this "affliction"

He gave me some Aciclovir to take 5 times a day. Look like torpedoes though, but if it works, I'll swallow them all right smile

Anyone else suffered from this? Apparently, there is no cure, although if detected early enough, the tablets "could stop it in it's tracks"

I hate to think what a severe bout of Shingles feels like!!

I had shingles a few years ago. By far the worst pain I have ever felt. Can be brought on by stress aparently?

Herpes Zoster, i.e. childhood Chicken Pox - you never get rid of it and it can flare up again as Shingles. It's really, really painful. Ask the Doc how much of your favourite painkiller you can really take, as you're going to need it. And it won't be enough.

Acyclovir (aka Zovirax for the more usually sexually transmitted Herpes) will only work if given really, really quickly.

Best of.
