This is surely the worst injury possible for people on this forum.

The story isn't even interesting. I was walking... and I went over on my ankle and bam, such immense pain. I have a stress fracture on my 5th metatarsal which will take 5-7 weeks to fix apparently.

The worst part of this is that I can't drive! I've only just bought an mx-5 and was just starting to fix things on it. I can unfortunately work from home, which means I have to sit in this sofa with my leg up for ages!

It's been a week so far and while I'm not really bored yet (internet/work/xbox/tv), I do feel like I'm going slightly mad.

I realise this isn't the worst injury in the world, but I would give anything to go for a drive.

I know how you feel... Broke my foot before X-mas... Make sure you rest it well, otherwise you will have issues. I also worked from home, which took my mind off things, however was desperate to drive!!

Goodluck with the healing!

I broke my big toe about 3 weeks ago and I was going mad within days. Self employed so was desperately trying to get to all the work I could (including having Mrs.NCoT chauffeur me around). Still can't really drive - went for a blast in her Puma a couple of days ago and had to swap over as it was killing me.

Fortunately apparently it's not as bad as feared and I am putting weight on it now and all but off the crutches, but not driving is driving me mad.

All the best chap, and do try to rest it if you can - it's the only way it can fix itself.

Yeah, been 3 weeks now and I'm pretty bored. I've planned in so much detail all the things I'm going to do to my car when I can. I also have quite a pile of parts building up. It's dangerous for the wallet all this sitting around.

I've also decided I need a better sound system in this room, luckily for me what I wanted to buy was only sold in store.

Sounds like you need to consider selling your tatty beetle replica to an enthusiast so that you can buy an auto tongue out

I had the same back in 2008

5th metatarsal on right foot...(couldn't drive or ride a bike)...mine was a oblique fracture and took ages to heal, off work for 11 weeks all in all (tbh I didn't get bored at all but was happy to get back to work afterwards)

heal fast matey smile

any pictures of your X-ray?
