So I fractured my foot (cubiod bone) back in late October, in plaster for 6 weeks, then physio until Feb. Still getting pain from the foot, especially when not using it, it sort of seizes up.. Anyways, need to go back to the gym, as I have put on a considerable amount of weight, probably 1.5 stone!!

Speaking to the doctor a few months back, he reckons it is ok, just need to get as much movement into it, which I have been doing, like walking, swimming etc.. However still does not feel right.. Was wondering whether a "lite" bit of gym work (cross trainer etc..) would actually help it out.. or would it make it worse?

People always say, that it is never the same after a fracture, getting quite fed up with situation, as I need to get active again.. Anyone have any views or experience?

Thanks G

Provided it was a straight break with no complications you are unlikely to do it any harm pushing it within the constraints of what your body will allow. Clearly passing out with the pain is not a good idea but working it in other ways probably is.

Make sure that you take it slowly at first - like 5 minutes easy. If you get no problems do 7 minutes next time etc etc.
