22 now, been smoking regularly for the last 10 years I would imagine, however when I say regularly its not every day, or even every week.

I will often go the week without any in the past and then have a few at the weekend when out with mates, anywhere between 5 and 20 over the weekend I guess.

Of late I am smoking 1 or 2 roll ups in the evening, but I didn't tonight as I didn't fancy it, and to test my theory I stopped for 3 months last year, but I enjoy it.

Is it me that has a rare and lucky set of genes that is resisting the need for more, and to do it all the time? Or am I not doing it enough? Anyone else lucky like this?

I didn't get addicted when I smoked for a couple of months.

But I definitely can get addicted to alcohol. That was actualLy difficult to quit. Once I had decided to, it was easy, I didn't want to before that though.

I'm fine with drink too, and drugs. Just lucky I guess, its very useful to be able to do something, enjoy it, but not need to do it again and again.

I've tried smoking twice, both when exceptionally pissed, didn't like it or enjoy it then and never will do. The only thing it was good for was chatting women up.

I used to be like that when i was 16/17, then it lead onto having a few rolleys a day, then it ended up with me smoking between 10-20 a day and attempting to quit uncountable times. I've quit now due to a bad cronic cough which retuned about 3 months ago (I had it for 4 months non stop last summer) and my chest has got a huge amount better. Hopefully I've kicked the habbit while i'm young so I dont fk my lungs even more.
I dont miss spending all that money on cigs and the chest problems it caused me, but I do miss just smoking. I'm craving one now just thinking about it frown

I am exactly the same, I smoked on and off for years, sometimes weeks would go by between ciggys, I never likes pre-mades and always smoked roll-ups, very often the baccy would go dry between ciggys, sometimes i would smoke 15-20 in a day, other times one or two, If I was in the car on a long trip I would chain smoke out of boredom, I would pre roll a load of cigs and just smoke till I ran out.

I fully stopped over a year ago, I did not miss it, do not miss it, and cannot see what all the fuss is about regarding giving up.

I very occasionally think about taking it up again but not for any need or desire, I just liked making roll ups, its a nice small creative thing that i was good at, i still make roll ups for mates who smoke but have not lit one myself in over 14 months.

One of my guilty pleasures. yes

I only really smoke when drunk and everyone else goes out for a smoke, because otherwise I get left inside on my own and I might get talking to a woman or something!

The trouble is that although you may not be addicted, every cigarette you smoke is still doing you damage. The next one you smoke could be the one that causes a tiny bit of damage to the DNA of one of your lung cells, turning it cancerous.

You could be dead within the year, coughing your guts out as you gasp "But I wasn't addicted to cigarettes, how come it was me?"

Smoking can be enjoyable, that's true. I know, I was addicted for years, but these days it's for losers. Sad groups of shabby nicotine junkies huddled together in the rain, desperately trying to pretend it's still ok to smoke.

Wise words. You should also avoid crossing the road, have shoes with velcro, not laces, wear a helmet around the house, and never ever drive a car.... wink

Swerni : Its hard to explain, but I just like it. Stupid I know.

Yeh, I understand it could be me thats dead this year, but then there are people that have smoked all their lives and are fine, eqaully there are plenty of healthy people that die from cancer.

And as for losers in the rain, most bars round where I live cater quite well for them, and at home the lounge is fine by me
