There's also an iPhone app which links up. You can tell it what you've eaten and it looks it up and records the calories for you.

Free to use, has calorie counter, weight trackers and so on. You can also customize the food charts to include food and nutritional info of items not already on there.

IME you may be better off coming up with your own solution. I created a spreadsheet with the foods, drinks, supplements, etc. I was consuming at the time. It gives you the freedom to log, report, query and chart exactly what interests you rather than someone else's best guess.
It takes a little more effort but once you've extracted all the data from the packet labels and/or your favourite calorie counting book/website it's a breeze and pretty much as accurate as you can get without access to a laboratory and the food trade's secrets. If there are any.
ETA Link to my spreadsheet: click. It's pretty specific to my requirements of the time but should give you an idea of what you can do with little effort.

^ This one ^ I have been using it since Jan when I started on my diet and exercise regime. They have recently added some decent analysis bits and bobs too.http://dailyburn.com/
has iphone apps to integrate the scanning fucntion (not that i have an iphone) as well as a calorie and exercise tracker app.
A good website with a LOT of food on it- including UK food, plus the ability to add your own!

You register, enter your details, your weight goal, and it tells you how many calories to adhere to. Plus it makes sure you eat a balanced diet. You then enter everything you've eaten to keep track. Worked for me, as I lost 6 kilos in about as many weeks when I first started.
It also registers/monitors exercise as well.
Of course, every last one of these systems is only as good as your own self control.

didn't really get on with Sparkpeople though- might have missed it but it seemed that everything was in US units and found that quite difficult to use.You register, enter your details, your weight goal, and it tells you how many calories to adhere to. I do find that pretty infuriating. They have some stupid ideas about what a 'serving'' is. A piece of cheese the size of two dice is, apparently, a serving. Who the hell eats cheese in that small a chunk? I've basically got a list of 'favourites' I use mainly.
I've not really tried any other calorie/weight loss sites, though I'm sure there are some that are easier to operate.
