Seems to me that the "experts" on this change their mind every five minutes, dependant on health stats and/or sales.

Safe bet I reckon is just to stick to drinking whole bottles at a time - can't go wrong. [hic]

red wine contains resveratrol. some research has shown it may help reduce atherosclerosis by stopping fatty tissue being deposited in the arteries. i don't know how it does this, a pure guess would be it affects the mechanisms for either HDL's or LDL's. but as said, that's purely a guess.
