Has anyone tried the King of Shaves Azor razor? (stupid name for a start)

I currently use the Gillette Fusion Power 5 blade but the blades are insanely expensive and the Azor sounds like KoS's have removed all the gimicks and advertising to develope a good razor with reasonably priced blades (blades look to be very small and uncomplicated so cheaper).

Blades look to be at least £6 cheaper a pack, but dont want to spend the money on something that cant compete with Gillette, regardless of the price.

Me. It's st. Avoid.

ETA on the other hand....

Me. It's really good. I've got one, barely used with 15 brand new blades if you'd like to buy it off me?

Really.. ?

Not sure wy the above have had troubles - been interested to hear details?

I love them, the new Azor M is great.. KOS product range is vast and has something for everyone. great products, great shave..

i am a big fan.

the name is from Will King (founder/owner) surname and his belief that the shaving experience is beyond other products hence King of Shaves..

Will, is that you? smile

That's a very different view to the others, would also be interested to see why people had such bad experiences with it, Ive used some of the oils etc and the quality seems good, but the step to a full razor is a big one.

I like it, also ruins my neck less than all other wet razors I've tried.

Get something like this instead £3.50 from my chemist and £2.80 for 10 blades.

Or one of these, but there is an art to it so you don't remove your head.

I tried it but couldn't get as close as with a fusion.

Not sure about that, the Fusion is very good and I wouldnt want to drop the quslity and decent shave I get from that.

Was hoping the KoS one would give same results for less money for blades, due to the blade cartridge literally just being the blades and surround. Gillette's one is a big pressed plastic affair so they recon they can charge platinum rates for it.

Not tried it myself yet. Tend to stick with Gillette on most occasions.

Sampled Wilkinson Sword Quattro (was using Mach 3 Turbo at the time) - preferred Gillette's handle.

Just a very bad shave, not close/smooth at all, it drags, stupid shaped "head" that makes it difficult to use, can't "feel" the contours of my chin and stuff.

It's not very good on legs either (not me that tried it, I hasten to add).

Other than that it's really good, if you're still interested in buying mine off me?

Judging by the majority of replies it's not work risking, I was hoping for a better result!!

Wish Gillette would take some of the design ideas from the Azor, like just put the blades in a surround that holds them in place, and the big plastic bit should be part of the razor. then charge us £5 less for blades!!

Of course the above makes very bad business sense, you'd think some company would latch onto it though and do it well.

Edit: and no thanks on the buying it off you option, that wasnt the best sales pitch Ive ever heard smile

unfortunately not.

I am surprised at the response by ppl on here to be honest. I, nor any of the approx. 150 ppl I know who use KoS have any issues with the products.

Will and his team pride themselves on the KoS products and certainly don’t get many issues with “red raw razor burn” etc.. interesting indeed..

I use electric during the week and the Azor at the weekend.

I had thought it was pretty good as it doesn't seem to drag or burn that much, just a simple once with the flow and one against gives a fair result. Do not think I would use it every day though as the shave is not that even and it is awkward to get into the corners.

Forget all the modern day crap and buy a Merkur(old fashioned) razor, badger bristled brush and shaving soap. It'll give you a very good shave and not leave a rash, also takes no longer than shaving with gel/foam.
