Ring the NHS emergeny line and get it sorted, I used to be one for not going and got an abcess which I would have paid someone 10k to sort such was the pain, lead to blood poisoning too, very bad.

bit of whisky on a cotton bud sometimes soothes it a bit.

Hydrogen Peroxide mouthwash. It's a potent anti-bacterial which will kill off the bugs causing the pain.

If not a good half glass will definitely numb it. Hold it in your mouth over the tooth for as long as possible, then swallow. It will be numb one way or the other!

You can take Paracetemol and Ibruefon at the same time, or rather alternatively during the day. This should give you full 24 hour coverage whilst staying within the maximum dose.

Chorsodyll Gel rubbed on sore area seems to work for me.

Also don't take anything that thins your blood otherwise the dentist may refuse to do the work whilst its in effect.

dont use oil of cloves... its nasty!

try bonjella or better still oragel.

for painkillers you need something with codine in it.

co-codomal should take the edge off.

I recently had toothache. I'm not keen on dentists but managed to get an appointment on Christmas Eve and my god am I glad I did. It turns out a filling from a few years ago was too big - over time this meant the filling had cracked the tooth right down the middle, which had got infected etc. I I hadn't gone the dentist that day I'd have lost the tooth and risked whatever from associated infection. My point is you have no idea what's causing it and I suggest you find out. A toothache isn't like a headache in the sense that they are transient no-particular reason nuisances.

Okay I had a toothache in a spot where there's no bleeding tooth LOL. I'm on the waiting list to see a hospital dentist for it, but not holding my breath. In the meantime I've partially denounced medical science due to so many bad experiences, so I've started drinking/swishing ozonated water and using a don croft zapper. The toothache has gone but the bad taste in my mouth is still present but it's only been a couple of day so hopefully things will get better.
