Advice on illnesses

tonight I have been told a friend has been diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma and another's child with a Streptococcus infection (yay friday night) can anyone give me info on these "problems"? both these people are close to me so I want to be as supportive as possible. cheers Tim frown

streptococcal infections should be fine after having some anti-biotics. however, MAKE SURE THEY FINISH THE COURSE OF MEDICINE. hodgekins lymphoma is a little more serious because it spreads through lymphatics. it depends where it is, and how early it's caught (e.g. if it's found it's way to thoracic duct it will likely be worse than if it starts in the inguinal (pelvic) region. generally pretty decent prognosis these days.
