I stubbed my toe and damaged my big toe nail a few weeks ago. Now I have the start of that fungal infection where your toe nail goes soft and brown.

It's only affecting about 20% of my nail at the moment but I want to nip it in the bud before I get an unsightly totally brown nail - yuk!

Does anybody know of a good fix for this? I've read that some people find Tea Tree oil is effective.

Thank you

And dont be too hasty - I dropped a wooden log on the end of my toe and after a week or so thought I was also getting a fungal nail infection - in the end it was nothing to do with the dreaded fungus - but simply by toe repairing itself and the nail bed by rejecting the toe-nail. My toe nail eventually dropped off and there was a nice healthy nail underneath!

hmm the brown is quite possibly dried blood and the softness more likey the nailplate having come away the nailbed.

Tea tree oil! Twice daily massaged in, be patient.
