What he ^^ said. I quit 5 years ago - best thing i've ever done. You no longer are a slave to the little sticks - you are a free man!! Stick at it - trust me it does get easier. Well done.

Yep, you've done it. Just stay stopped.

I've been off it for 2 years and I have really stopped. No pangs, no nothing.

I HAVE PUT ON 2 STONE THOUGH frown

Carr's Easyway book will be a valuable read it's bugging you still.

Well done on being a free man. No more "st, can I get to the shop before 10" anxiety. Healthier gums, breath that doesn't stink, being able to run up flights of steps without feeling like you're going to snuff it.

I was chainsmoking my way around W Australia in a 1970 beetle and noted my breathing wasn't as good as it was. Started getting the "I've got to stop anxiety". Few days later a Darth Vader style emphysema advert on the radio made me chuck my baccy out of the window. The End.

One drag and you will fall down the slope. yes

Well done and now there are so many nasty things which will become less likely to happen to you as time goes on.

If you can crack the first 24hours, you're on your way.

Thanks for the supportsmile

Still feeling pretty ropey. Don't want to cave in for my kids (my smoking upsets them so muchfrown) and I've started sticking my fag money into a pot which will hopefully go towards a race car in a couple of years (if I don't spend it all on track days and bits and bobs for my Elise!).

Get the Carr book and have a read.

You are a slave to bullst otherwise. It'll make you see how addiction works and why it's such a load of bks.

You're looking at it the wrong way. Rather than looking at it from the "comfort zone" of being a smoker and having a nice fag when you've "insert excuse here", realise that you are another step away from it.

I've been down the shed working on one of my cars and my mate was moaning about "having to quit smoking at some point".

You have done, bear that in mind. You HAVE stopped.

Now, get on with your life smile

I was smoking 10-15 per day until the 1st of december, I got told I had to give up for an op I've got coming up. I found it really easy, I used patches for about 6 weeks and didn't need any "aids" such as gum inhalator etc, stick to it. The best thing I found is my checklist when I leave the house no longer includes lighter and cigs and I don't have to check the pack to see if I need to buy more.

IT WILL BE WORTH IT IN THE END!!!!!!
