Hi,

At the moment I weigh around 94kgs and am 175cm tall.

I want to get down to at least 80kgs, I am eating some fruit in the morning, a Sandwich for lunch and some sort of dinner in the eve, nothing massive.

I snack on fruit (mainly apples) thoroughout the day when I feel hungry.

I walk 4 miles a day in 1 hour in the evening, would this be enough exercise to help me reduce weight or should I be doing more?

Work out your 'maintenance calories' (i.e the calorie intake you need to stay at the same weight) using this.

Add 210 calories for your evening walk (taken from here)

Add up your calorie intake from food. To lose 1lb per week, your calorie intake should be 500 below your 'calorie output'. If it's not, you can either increase your exercise or decrease your calorie intake.

The easiest, most straightforward way to determine this is to do it for a couple of weeks and see what happens. If you can't see anything, then step it up a bit. Perhaps turn the walk into a jog and perhaps go a little bit further.

I have cut out sugary drinks, crisps and all snacks that I used to eat a fair bit of. I play badminton a couple of times a week, I've upped my standard by joining better clubs and I'm back playing at top level again.

Since November I have lost 4 stone and none of my clothes fit me any more so it has worked out very expensive.

Feel much better though, good luck with it.

Nice one, AB!

Also, worthwhile checking your alcoholic drinks intake... lots of carbs hidden in a pint of beer. Great for carb-loading, mind. biggrin

Make sure that you are eating enough and that your body does not go into starvation mode. You should be aiming to make long term changes to your eating habits, and lifestyle so that the weight comes off, and stays off. If you simply revert to your "old" ways a few months down the line then back will come the weight.

The rebound weight is something I worry about but I'm quite happy with the new 'routine' - it wasn't really a diet.

I cheated a little by using ECA though, 3 a day spread out equally, one being taken before cardio - 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off.

The Wii fit helped with motivation too.

You must look like different person.

I was always about 16.5st, I am now 12.5st

I went from the low end of 'obese' BMI to the top of 'ideal' and allegedly my ideal weight for my height (5'10") is 11 stone but I'm quite broad and I think 11 stone would be too much weight loss.

I'm currently on a tone up regime of sit ups, press ups etc as well as all the cardio I do. Any advice welcomed in terms of pulling in the stomach muscles and toning up.

None of my clothes fit any more, t shirts hang off me, pants fall down and if I pull the belt tight enough to keep them up then they look stupid. Went from a 38" waist to somewhere between 34" and 36" (not measured just going on the jean sizes that fit). Had to buy new belts and drill holes in some of them.

Muscles have become more defined from losing the fat and all the badminton, had to change the finger I wear my ring on and my favourite is the fact that my skin has become very clear and my face noticeably thinner.

I have gone from 17.5 inch neck to 16.5 inch with space left when buttoned up wearing a tie. New suit is quite a loose 44 chest when I was once a 46.

I've rabitted on enough, sorry, but one of those things I'm quite proud of.

firstly cracking work AB i think you have every right to feel proud. you raise quite i good point with those pics as well.
id recommend to anyone trying to cut or bulk to take photos. seems really vain at first but nobody has to see them. just front back and side views once a month with your shirt off. its the best way to notice the difference you're making and looking at previous months photos is a real confidence booster. been doing this for a few months now and although i've lost around a stone the change is obviously gradual so its hard to notice a difference in yourself by just looking down at your gut. however looking at the photos i took in december i can really tell.

so far i've gone from 13.5st to 12.5 at 175cm aiming for 12st before i start bulking

Could you explain what ECA is please? I had a quick Google for it, but ruled out most of the results:

- Electrical Contractors Association?
- European Canoe Association?
- Edinburgh College of Art?
- Enchanced Capital Allowance?

The only result I considered a possible match was the European Cheerleaders Association, but I suspect that three of them per day, even if spread out equally would be more than most men could handle long term.

Yeah, thanks for the sarcasm. As I already said, I did google it, but without having any idea what I was looking for (supplement, diet, training schedule etc.) I didn't find the right results.

ECA = ephedrine (believe t be ilegal, certainly buy over here, caffene(usually taken as tablets, ie 200mg) and Asprin all stacked
