Anyone tried it?

Anyone heard of it? biggrin

<quote>In its simplest form, Jala Neti is a way of nasal irrigation or washing of the sinuses in a unique manner through a special pot called the neti pot or the jalaneti pot.</quote> taken from www.jalanetipot.com

About a year ago one of my mates at work was talking about this new thing he had tried called a Neti Pot. When he explained it was the process of flushing your nose out with salt water I started taking the piss out of him biggrin

However, some of the things he had said obviously struck a chord with me so I read up some more.

It claims to help a whole host of ailments, including a few I have suffered from or still do - hay fever, the odd cold, and regular migraines.

I became intrigued and so I eventually ordered my own Neti pot and salt supply.

When I first started using it, the sensation was quite weird but I persosted and I did feel a vast improvement.

I must confess that I had stopped using it regularly until last week when I contracted a stinking cold (the wonders of commuting on the bus for the past few weeks).

I resurrected my old Neti pot and it has worked wonders with my blocked sinuses and cold symptoms - i'm not claiming it cures the cold as I still have it, but my breathing has been helped vastly by using it.

Tonight I did my first 'stage 2' Neti - as the solution is being flushed from one nostril to the other, I breathed in thru my nose and the solution went thru the rear cavities and out thru my mouth - a really strange sensation but wow, what a difference!

I half thought it would be like when you were a kid and inadvertently inhaled the water in the swimming pool but it wasn't like that at all.

If you suffer from any of these ailments:
Allergies,Asthma/Bronchitis,Chronic Mucus & Catarrh,Colds,Ear Problems,Eye Problems,General Breathing Difficulties,Hay fever,Headaches (incl. Migraine),Nasal Blockages,Poor Smelling Function,Post Nasal Drip

I am in no way claiming this is a magical cure for any of them, but it may be worth your while having a read over some of the facts and maybe even giving it a try - I did, and I genuinely feel it makes a difference!

Cheers,
