low blood pressure / high blood pressure/ stroke.??

Is it just high blood pressure that can lead to a stroke, or is it possible to have a stroke with low blood pressure? I have low blood pressure. My father died of a stroke, (he had high BP and he smoked) but I haven't read anywhere on 'tinternet about low BP and stroke.
I thought I had better ask all knowledgeable PH'ers.
