I'm noticing this more and more as I get into training hard - some monkey turns up at work ill and with the current blitz I have on fitness im a bit worn down, practically guaranteed to get it.

So its another Saturday where I've woken up feeling like ive been beaten with a stick... completely wasted day and probably tomorrow too.

My health and fitness are a lot more important to me than my work, particularly at the present time.

What do you do? I don't have the authority to tell them to go home, I will end up in trouble - and questions will be asked if I say 'im not working next to ill person all day' and work from home.

fyi this is what I did this week - which I think was overdoing it slightly
monday - swim 2.5km, karate
tuesday - running / rowing / crosstrainer in gym
wednesday - swim 1.5km weight machines in gym
thursday - karate (should have swum 1.5km here as well but circumstances got in the way)
friday - swim 2.5km
saturday - planned as rest day
sunday - 4m walk planned.

You are probably feeling like you were beaten with a stick from all your swimming rather than some guy with a cold.
If you want to look after your health, don't get to a point where you can't fight off infections.

Don't look like your going over the top to me, as long as your training is progressive crack on, we were designed to chase food and live in the cold keep that in the back of your mind.

health and fitness more important than work? Quit.

Simple. Spend as much of the day working out as you want.

Or balance it. I found when I was doing 2 hours+ a day of cardio and weights it caught up to me after a couple of weeks. Made me more susceptible to getting a cold. I'm down to 4 days a week and feel much better for it.

1 hour a day of training will not make you more susceptible to catching a cold.

Try having three or four rest days a week rather than just one.

Firstly, fk off. and second, fk off smile

When people come into work feeling like crap their work is substandard and it just ends up being revisited when they are better. I'd just as soon they got better quickly, and then did the work once and did it right.

I'd love to, but something has to pay the bills for the moment.

If it's making him act like a little pansy when people sniffle then maybe it is.

I was thinking about this in the car today. If you are getting fitter and healthier from training, you should be more resistant to illness. That you are more susceptible suggests that your immune system is low. This means that either you need to eat more or you need to sleep more... or both. Try this first before kidnapping snuffling colleagues.

I have no idea what youre on about. Little hitlers would be someone insisting they come into work regardless of if they are ill or whatever.
