Anybody bought ex gym treadmills, rowers and the like?

I am looking at putting in a home gym but wanted some robust kit but can't afford to be putting in professional kit but though ex-gym kit might be a compromise.

Phone up one of the small back street gyms, and ask where they got their kit from, I suspect it won't be new. And maybe local auction houses to see if they get old stuff sold through them.

if it was me i would get some used leverage machines and a used cross trainer....

I got a used running-machine off a mate (who has run several marathons and umpteen 5-10k's), then paid £120 to have it overhauled/serviced and a new running belt put on. Been like new since. It must be a good 10yrs old, but is perfect.

Found a few sites selling reconditioned kit which seen to be at about a third of the new price. I might want to see some warranty.
