I found a 100% cure for my achilles tendonitis..
Discussion
Hello guys.Just a heads up for you runners.December 2008 I started running again. Was doing nicely until I started adding some sprints. After that day My right achilles was very tender and sore.It has always been tender but not like this.
In the mornings it was terrible hobbling around which is the way it stayed for months .Knew I had not torn it but a couple of weeks later starting to thicken up.
I have my own professional ultrasound therapy machine I used it twice a day for 3 weeks did not touch it.Also have a cold level laser ,this did not help either.
Tried deep massage.Basically You name it i tried it.Really getting me down. Googled some more found "shock wave therapy"with nothing to lose the physio who does it told me one treatment weekly for three weeks will do it.He ultrasounded the area and it showed tears and calcification. He said that after the last treatment I will have to be patient as it takes 3-4 months to work.
Well 4 months later I am completely pain free and the tendon looks better than it has for years.I am amazed the thickness has gone as well. There are so many threads on running forums where people have this and whatever they do does not work.I was sceptical thought it would be just another treatment that wont work and just empty my pocket.
So there you are.I cant give you the name of the guy I used as you may think this is advertising you will have to google or PM me I guess.

Quick qoogle comes up with a bit of bumf and the phrase 'we are not sure how it works'....
The most obvious question to the OP is have you started running again with no pain and how long for?
Though as stated above tendonitis by its very nature should go away with rest as its an overuse injury...
Did you do any rehab exercises to strengthen the surrounding muscles/ligaments/tendons etc....if not what is preventing the pain from recurring?

Hello guys ,Cant tell you strongly enough I tried everything including eccentric exercises,Ice by the bagful I rested for 6 months then tried physio im telling you hand on heart the pain was stuck ,very thick tendon. It was not getting better at all not by 1%.
This treatment was a gamble 3x £200 expensive!!!, done by a physio who had invested in the machine.
Ok as for training im 50, the days of me running I think are gone.I am too wary to run I just do not need to go through that again. However I can fast walk with a back pack with weights in it plus holding 2 2 1/2 lb weights and that gives me a great workout. Plus I can weight train including squatting with no problems.
However as for stressing the tendon by pounding up and down I am not going to risk it.Although I miss that flowing great to be alive feeling I got from running I much prefer to be able to walk around without pain.
