Ever since the attack last May soem of you are aware of I think I've coped pretty well.....up until now.

Woke up this morning, right eye would not open properly at all, now it has finally opened a little it's refusing to focuse or point in the right direction some days it will, some it won't. On top of that my short term memory is royaly screwed, basic mental arithmetic presents me with a huge challenge, my abaility to spell has gone doen the pan and mid sentance I'll often just forget what I was trying to say.

It's now stopped being funny and is becoming a real pain in the arse, worst of all there is nothing at all the docs at the hospital can do for it, just a yearly check up to monitor the situation. I'm at my wits end today.

All because of a gang low life fking peice of st pondlife who thought "it would be a laugh to have a scrap". If I knew where they lived I'd gladly go down there with a big stick a beat the st out of the little fkers.

I know there is nothing I can do to make it go away or get better, that's why it's days like today I just want to curl up in the corner and not wake up again.

I think it is important to remember that you had a horrific experience and you will have bad days for some time. But it is only a bad day and you will feel better. Not particularly useful advice I know, but you do need to let yourself go through this process and not give yourself a hard time for feeling crap and angry some days.

The docs must be able to do something, surely. Clearly something isn't quite fixed yet. Hope the episode (if that's what it is) clears quickly!

Just read up on your ealier threads to what happened, gutted for you, scarey how a few minutes of scrotes time can have such a lasting impact. Thinking of you, and hopefully time will be the healer. Fingers crossed it leaves no long term damage.

Nope, nothing at all, had an op last April to correct the muscle damage as best possible. Had the orbital floor rebuilt, cheekbone plated & skull plated. But as far a nerve damage etc, it's just a case of wait and see.

I also look like a proiper spaz at times.

Indeed... which is why I am always extremely vigilant when walking around at night, as much as possible I'll try and avoid situations that look like they could be threatening. One of my mates nearly always walks home from a night out, over 5 miles. Personally, I think he's daft. I'd rather just pay the ten quid for a taxi or hop on the bus rather than walk through some of the dodgy areas he does, although he's been fine up until now.

I've been drinking in town every weekend almost for the last 13 years and touch wood, up until now, I've been fine.

Sorry to hear of your problems OP.

Years ago I used to always walk home from town to Fenham, also 5 mile or so, and had 3 seperate run-ins, some I won, some I lost, but these days I wouldnt chance it, seems traditional 'scrapping' has now been upped ten-fold in severity, so taxi every time now thank you.

Under these circumstances, I would find it very hard indeed, not to actively seek violent and lasting retribution frown
