DE razor kit......why the bowl?

OK....given up on electric shaving are a week and going old school!

I understand what the DE razor does and i get the badger brush......but then - cream or soap? and they seem to come in their own little bowls so why do so many "kits" come with a little bowl as well? Whats this bowl for...too small for cocopops so i'm lost!

It's for the soap. The soaps that come in plastic bowls are really just refills.

Looks better in the matching bowl rather than the plastic tub.

eta - you'll love the safety razor shave, you'll never go back to electric!

OK....so you buy the soap and put it in the bowl - i assume it looks/acts like a bar of washing soap? ie - it doest dry out or anything? it just sits in its bowl?

Correct, it just sits in the bowl and doesn't dry out. Just wet the brush with hot water and swirl it around the soap to get a really nice lather. No need to cover the soap when you're done.
