A friend is having an operation next week on her spine to stop the pain from problems with her kidneys.

She is having it done at King Edward 7th Hospital in London.

Just would like a bit of info if anyone knows anything about the procedure and the hospital.

Julian Shah seems to be a neuro-urologist. I didn't know such a consultant existed.

I can't seem to find in laymans term what the process is, what it does and how it does it.

Basically a device like a pacemaker that delivers electrical pulses which interrupt the pain signals. A lead is positioned near the spinal column then connected to the neurostimulator device which is implanted in the abdomen.
