I had the misfortune of finding a rather concerning lump on one of the lads about a month past. Went to the doctor who ummed and arred about what it could be.

Another couple of weeks went by before I had the ultrasound - the news appears good, almost certainly a cyst. But to be honest I have been sick with worry over the last month. Couldn't concentrate at work, was constantly looking up the wost case scenario on the internet etc.

From now on I will be religious in checking them out - I certainly wasn't before - I mean I'm only 24. That said, Getting your nuts fondled by your male GP and a male radiologist was unpleasant to say the least, but if you find anything that is cause for concern, go and get them looked at. Don't leave it.

A gentle reminder. That's all.

I have something on one on one of mine, it feels like it is just membrane as its not a lump as such. I had an op the other day, and asked them to have a look over them whilst I was under, he said it felt normal hmmmm

You did the right thing!

I believe the stats say that 20-35 year olds are most likely to have problems. All of us should get used to checking them out on a regular basis. Nothing to lose, everything to gain.

Think about Rachael Stevens and give them a 'feel' http://www.checkemlads.com/

My dad died of testicular cancer at age 38 so I've always been well motivated to check mine out.

Had a bit of a heartstopper at age 23 when I found a small lump on my left nut; had it checked out and found out it was benign (phew).

Bringing things up to date the benign lump grew and I got married had kids and decided to have a vasectomy a couple of years ago so they chopped the lump out (by now half the size of ny thumb) at the same time.

Don't stick your heads in the sand guys, if something ain't right man up and see the quack.

From finding his lump to dying my old man lasted three months. So if your embarrassing discovery is a problem you might not have much time to act.

Always best to get it checked out - 9 times out of 10 it'll be nothing, remember that Testicular Cancer is very rare - but always worth getting checked. Took me a while to "man up" as it were to get mine checked. Turned out to be minor swelling of the epididymous (sp?).

More difficult was going for the ultrasound and having an attractive Asian woman squirting that ultrasound goo on my plums....took real mental strength not to let my mind wonder.... biggrin

Good for you OP.

Check them, check them regularly and then do something about it if you do find something. A month of sleepless nights is horrible (I had a three month wait for the result of a mammagram to come back and that is something that takes some working through), but don't be afraid of seeing the doc.

Lots of ways to do it, from making it a casual part of foreplay to having a good rummage in the shower, find the time to do it.

95% success rate if caught early, much less so when you 'forget about it' in the hope that it will 'just go away by itself'.

I have just been through the exact same thing and from what the ultra sound woman said its just a cyst (what the Doc thought too). Need to go back and see the doc in a week for the final result.

I too had my nuts felt by a bearded old doc (male), i then had too young lasses do the ultrasound, it was all worth it for that feeling of relief when i got back to the car.

At the end of the day they see "them" every day, it nothing new and only another body part. I was just pleased it was not cold and the old lad didnt shrink. biggrin
