Wife e mailed me at work today, 8pm UK time, telling me she had something in her eye, that was inside the eye, not on the surface. She could see it in her field of vision. I'm 8000 miles from home, can't help, and she has our young daughter there with her, so I advised her she might want to pop to A&E and ask them to look.

Three doctors and one specialist took it in turns looking into her eyes. The first, a French dude, with foul breath, apparently, decided she has shingles or herpes, one of the two, maybe both.
confused
Second doc told her conjunctivitis.
Third told her it was an infection.
The consultant finally agreed it was probably an infection, as she had a little conjunctive inflammation. He gave her antibiotic eye drops.

Wife things it is a parasite crawling round inside her eye, and is obviously a little scared. yikes

Any guesses exactly what this little alien object in her eye is?

Firstly, where is your wife?

There are parasites that can affect the eye, in such a way, but they are rare. They can, however, be treated without too much of a problem. It is important to get as many details as possible about when and where your wife noticed this thing.

She's at home, in the UK, but she went to Wolverhampton A&E yesterday and they had a quick look, told her to go back tomorrow for a look with the eye camera device. It would seem she does have a floater, but they need a proper look.

It started over the weekend and appears to be getting a bit darker every day.
