Shouler operation..
Discussion
Looks like I need some keyhole surgery on my left shoulder. I'm not sure of the procedure name (just emailed the Consultant's secretary for more details to pass on to the health care company) but it looks like trimming some bone off the socket to allow the tendons room to move and heal.
I believe that this is a common procedure, and I've been told that it will be about 1 6 - 7 break from gym work/exercise.
Just wondering if anyone on here has any experience of the procedure, or advice to offer. I'm booking in for January 19th, so will hopefully get my ski holiday in first!

Really depends what they are doing if its a glenoid labrum trim then its cartlidge so should be fine as you won't get irregular bone growth, if its the glenoid cavity and surrounding bony structures then its bone and sometimes you can get sparadic bone growth from osteophytes which is a natural reaction for the body.
The shoulder is such an complex joint, so much going on in such a small area, sure you'll be fine and I have seen some really complex cases, but to be honest all of them have got back to function.
Start some pre-hab now with scapula setting and isometric holds in positions you find comfortable.
As I always say, asking for advice off the net can be misleading and wrong so wait and see what you are having before commiting or worrying to much.
